Buy My Dress Campaign wins Fundraising Campaign of the Year
The success of the Buy My Dress campaign was recognised with a Fundraising Ireland Award for "Fundraising Campaign of the Year - Small Organisation" this week. We were delighted to be acknowledged by our peers for the campaign and have plans to extend Buy My Dress in 2010 to run concurrent BMD events in Dublin, Cork and Galway on May 20th.
Peter Mark will be supporting the campaign again by allowing us to use their salon network in these locations as drop-off points and in another exciting development, Special K will be sponsoring the campaign. More news on plans to come in early 2010 but in the meantime, if you're interested in helping out in any of the locations, we'd love to hear from you.
"Buy My Dress™" was a sale of over 1,000 used (but much-loved) high street and designer dresses which, for one reason or another - too small, too big, too long, too wide, were no longer being worn.
Over 1500 dresses were donated to the Down Syndrome Centre for sale in the fabulous surroundings of the Royal College of Physicians, Kildare St, Dublin 2 on Thursday 11th June 2009.

The day was a phenomenal and run(a)way success. Our heartfelt thanks go to the Irish women of all ages, shapes, sizes and from all walks of life, who supported the day and made it such a huge success.
